Privacy Policy

The short version: OpenObject collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. Everything stays on your own network.

What we collect

Nothing. OpenObject and its apps (Mac, Apple TV, and iPad) do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There is no sign-in and no account to create. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.

Where your data lives

Your art, your Library, and your settings stay on your own devices and your own local network. The Apple TV and iPad apps talk only to a Host (a Mac or an Infinite Objects XXL frame) running OpenObject on the same network, to show the art you have chosen there. Nothing you add or do is uploaded to us or to any third party.

OpenObject has no backend server of its own. There is simply nowhere for your personal data to be sent, because we do not run a service that would receive it.

Local network access

On Apple TV, iPad, and Mac, OpenObject asks for permission to access your local network. It uses this for one purpose: to find a Host on your network so it can show that Host's art. It is not used to collect information about your network or the devices on it.

Downloads and updates

The apps are distributed through the App Store (Apple), and the Mac app checks for updates through GitHub and openobject.io. When you download, install, or update OpenObject, that goes through those services, which have their own privacy policies. OpenObject itself receives no personal information about you in the process.

Children

OpenObject is not directed at children, and because it collects no data at all, it collects none from children either.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the date below. Since OpenObject is built to collect nothing, we do not expect meaningful changes.
